Monday - Friday 8 am to 5 pm (Flexible Schedule)

Major/Essential Duties of Job

This position assists the full-time Human Resources team supporting Texas A&M Transportation Services. Though this position is imbedded within Transportation Services, employees in this position are employed by the Division of Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness. Major Essentials/Duties: • Running the Transportation Services Employee Referral Program • Assisting with the student and wage employee termination process • Updating online and physical records due to changes based on Transportation Services Student Employee Pay Plan and Incentive plan along with promotions, transfers, and Work Study title changes • Tracking dual employment information between Transportation Services and other departments on campus • Handling employee recognition posts on the Transportation Services intranet • Maintaining records of Transit student employee discipline entries • Scheduling interviews and preparing interview packets • Assisting with updates to employee position descriptions • Scanning and filing personnel and training documents • Verifying records • Assisting with monthly and annual records retention • Assisting with special projects as needed

Qualifications

• This is a position within a Human Resources department, so confidentiality and discretion are required. • Must have strong people, verbal, and written skills. • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. • Able to use a computer. • Must have a valid driver's license. • Must be enrolled as a student for a minimum of 9 hours per semester (excluding summer session) at TAMU, Blinn, Sam Houston, etc. • Must work a minimum of 12 hours per week during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous clerical experience and/or customer service experience. • Ability to work in 4+ hour blocks of time for 20 hours/week. • Availability to work over the summer and winter breaks. • Ability to work for some period of time each day of the work week (Monday – Friday) during the semester. • Strong preference will be given to applicants classified as a freshman or sophomore or who may be able to hold the position for three or more semesters.

Other Instructions

• Will be required to provide class schedule • Will be trained to use the various HR systems used by Texas A&M and Transportation Services • May be eligible for priority registration as a student employee (Texas A&M students only).

Salary

$10.00/hr (eligible for student employee pay plan)
